With over 1800 staff in 26 countries, they are a fast growing and dynamic company who is in the process of building out their African operation.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Based out of Johannesburg, the successful candidate will assist the Commercial Manager in building the business in South Africa, while assisting with the greater Sub-Saharan African region. This will involve primarily digital ad-sales across both display and video but with an eye on more integrated solutions combining media and content. You will be required to develop a key understanding of the company’s offering that will enable you to:

  • Assist with the sale of display advertising, sponsorship and video (VOD) advertising, across all of the companies services.
  • Identify and develop new advertising/sponsorship opportunities with key regional partners, sponsors and brands
  • Manage and build key strategic relationships with Johannesburg based media agencies and brands.
  • Work effectively and in partnership with they company’s current partners editorial teams and management team in South Africa.
  • Provide weekly reports to the line manager based
Requirements
  • A good understanding of the digital space, online advertising and how content works
  • Accountability, self-motivation & discipline to work in an ‘on the road’ scenario
  • Natural penchant for selling and negotiation in the digital environment
  • A firm grasp on the sales process >Identify leads > Qualify > Propose > Pitch > Close > Deliver
  • Knowledge of sport, the business behind it and emerging technology trends
  • The ability to build and nurture robust relationships with agencies, brands and sponsors
  • MS Office, CRM tools, proposal writing and presentation skills
  • Industry knowledge of the Mobile, Online, African & Sporting landscapes
  • Dynamic ability to work within a sales team, assume multiple responsibilities and get the job done
  • Track record of identifying opportunities and delivering on budget, target and reporting on it
  • Highly ambitious, results driven with a proven commercial acumen
