Job Description: Content and Copywriting Executive

You live and breathe the written prose, and nothing grinds your gears more than poorly executed grammar, confusion between “they’re, there and their” and rogue punctuation that slips through the net… The written language is the best weapon in your arsenal and you proudly use its versatility and dexterity to convince, persuade and deliver messages to your audience in a way that influences their behaviour. You have proven experience in contemporary content marketing concepts and methodologies and you are passionate about success.

  • As a copywriter, your focus is contributing pristine copy to high-quality content marketing campaigns by keeping an eye on the digital landscape that will influence concepts and keep projects innovative and fresh.
  • Being able to decipher a dodgy brief and to use a perfect blend of experience and talent to transform that into written brilliance.
  • Being able to contribute ideas and strategies to all areas that you touch.
  • To be able to execute and deliver content requests for all facets of the business, including the likes of email, graphic design, front-end developers, the affiliate team, the social team, the SEO and PPC teams..
  • This position is located in our Centurion office in South Africa, but with the potential to travel to international offices.

Requirements

  • We’re looking for at least two years of Marketing Experience, preferably in the Travel sector if possible, with a proven track record of success against set targets and goals.

Key Skills

  • The ability to write and think creatively
  • Significant experience in writing strong, succinct copy that is grammatically correct
  • A flexible approach and willingness to adapt ideas to the needs of clients
  • The ability to work to strict deadlines without compromising on work quality
  • The ability to work within allocated budgets
  • Great organisational skills
  • An eye for detail
  • Strong research skills

Your work will differ day-to-day, but your prime responsibility is to build traffic, links, shares, and a loyal audience.

Who You Are

You might have a degree in media or communications (or you might not!), a few years of experience in a role that grows website traffic, you have an entrepreneurial mindset and are constantly looking for opportunities to grow websites and you love to hustle to hit growth targets and projections. You enjoy the challenge of going up against tough competition and winning, they probably have been in the market longer and have bigger teams, but you’re confident your strategies and tactics will beat them in the medium to long-term. Complacency isn’t a word in your dictionary, you are a proactive go-getter and you just don’t understand why things can’t get done right now!

You are skilled at copywriting, content management and wider marketing, and consider yourself to have strong entrepreneurial skills. You work hard and know what you need to do to lead a team towards achieving the company and individual’s goals. You understand the intent of the user. You can empathize with how users would feel and have a strong idea around what they want and can build content that perfectly delivers to this. You love pages that squarely solve core user problems and drive revenue and awareness for the business, a positive experience for the user and the company.

Benefits:

Competitive package and ongoing recognition for results.

Office perks include; free breakfasts, fresh fruit, infinite tea and coffee, Friday drinks at 4:30 and other regular social functions. Summer and Christmas parties.
