Under the supervision of the Head of Digital Marketing and the CMO, the Digital Content Creator is responsible for creating online content that resonates and converts audiences, with a brand voice that speaks to a specific, targeted audience in a compelling way. The ideal candidate will drive the online content creation and social media management and will work closely with the Marketing Team on digital campaigns, to acquire, retain and engage with customers. The Digital Content Creator’s duties will fall into three different groups 1) content strategy 2) Content strategy implementation and 3) content management and monitoring.

Key Accountabilities

  • Create digital content across multiple digital channels e.g. Facebook, Twitter, DM, blogs, SMS, email, SEO content pages, website etc. in accordance with Wonga’s tone of voice
  • To research, source, write and edit interesting content for emailers and newsletters as well as social media platforms
  • Meticulous with attention to detail and quality of work whilst being able to multi-task and prioritise accordingly to meet deadlines
  • Possess a deep understanding and passion for content marketing, customer acquisition, retention and lead generation
  • Knowledge of industry trends in the Tech landscape
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the different South African demographics (generational and cultural)

Critical Skills & Experience

  • Relevant degree or Diploma
  • Advanced understanding of the Digital Ecosystem
  • Experience in online content writing, copywriting, editing and proofing content that is in accordance with a brand’s tone of voice
  • Ability to create content with a focus on digital convergence and synergy throughout
  • Minimum of 3 to 4 years’ industry experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office e.g. Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • A body of work needed for submission prior to the interview stage.
